ha!
M*tro Tr*nsit, together with MillerCoors, is offering free rides tonight from 6:00 PM until the last trip of the night.
We have hoods to put over the farebox to remind our passengers that the ride is free.
One of our dispatchers is pretty funny.

rev. dr. mlk, jr.
I missed the first couple minutes of the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr.'s most famous speech on CNN this afternoon, but I watched the rest. Powerful, beautiful.
Earlier, I had chatted with my parents. I hadn't spoken with them at length since they took a road trip to Florida for Christmas. My dad reported his discomfort and concern with seeing large Confederate flags in public places as they traveled through the South.
We have a long way to go.

cinco de mayo
Since it started raining just as we were going to head over to Lake Street for all kinds of Cinco de Mayo fun, Kassie, Simon and I celebrated at our local Mexican restaurant, El Paraiso, instead. I ordered a seafood chimichanga. It was huge. And heavy.

We spent the rest of the day hanging out on the front porch with our neighbors, enjoying cocktails.
Kassie is in Washington, DC on a work trip. Jeff and I are having lots of bachelor fun. Uh, or something like that...
